Sonia Barrett- Defining the Matrix
In this video, Sonia Barrett speaks briefly about getting caught up in a loop that we perceive to be reality. In my studies of Ra Un Nefer Amen's Tree of Life Meditation System, I had an insight about thought processes and how they work to sustain our emotions. Our thoughts loop. By this I mean that we think of and produce images of ideas, concepts, events, etc. that feed our emotions.
For example, someone really annoys you. You think of all of the reasons they annoy you. Maybe you don't like their brand of politics or their views on religion. When you see that person, you start to play "tapes" in your head of conversations you've had. This increases you annoyance. These tapes run in your mind at odd moments. Your annoyance increases even more. These tapes are loops that run over and over in your mind.
Now, let's take this looping concept to a quantum level with the express understanding that I am musing. I'm no expert -- just kicking some thoughts around. In quantum physics, there is something called string material that is shaped like loops. The best that can be said about these loops are that they appear to be thoughts.
Going further -- there is this Star Trek: The Next Generation episode called "Cause and Effect" in which the Enterprise gets caught in a time loop where they keep repeating the same events without realizing it. They have no idea that they are outside of time so time is just passing them by and they are unaware of it.
This could be an exaggerated example of what happens to us when we repeat the same images and beliefs over and over again in our mind.
In the example above, and I know you've had such experiences, when you are deep in your contemplation of how annoyed you are, do you lose time? Do you come out of your reverie only to discover that five minutes or so have passed you by on something that has no relevance to what you were trying to do?
What if that reverie could be put to more creative use? Those repeating or looping images and beliefs cause us to take action. This is what makes advertising so powerful. You see a pizza commercial that you've seen over and over again and what do you desire for dinner, later, just out of the blue? Pizza. Instead of recalling a pizza commercial, what if that time were spent on creating a painting or writing a book?
The Metu NeterTheory by Ra Un Nefer Amen teaches you how to interrupt your dis-serving repetitious thought patterns and change them so that you develop your Self knowledge to experience yourself as a creator. Not bad, is it?
Now I have a better understanding of what Ra Un Nefer Amen was talking about, thanks for clearing that up for me.
